Background of This Quote
This quote comes from OAHSPE: The Book of the Voice of Man (Book 2).
The book begins by stating that the entire universe was created by the Creator—not as a religious assertion, but as a logical conclusion. After all, without something that existed from the beginning, there would be no way to explain how the present world came to be.
In other words, existence itself must have preceded all things. From within that existence, a conscious being emerged—this being is what OAHSPE calls the Creator.

Modern science tells us that the universe is expanding and had a beginning, often described as the Big Bang. But if that was the beginning, what came before it? The idea that “something came from nothing” is difficult to accept. There must have been a “container” that allowed for the Bang to occur—and someone must have created that container.
Pushing this question further, we inevitably reach the idea that something existed from the very beginning.
That foundational presence is what OAHSPE identifies as the Creator, who then brought all things into being through trial and error. This creation process is further detailed in The Book of God’s Word, which is also found in OAHSPE.
Interestingly, that book tells us:
Without green fruit, none could be ripe; without evil none could be good. So Ormazd created all creation, and called it good; but lo, and behold, there was nothing to do. All things moved not; as if dead, all things were as nothing.

Evil as Catalyst, Not Ruler
Without evil, no one could become good.
Ormazd created all things good. But then… nothing happened. Everything was still, as if dead.

This reflects a core idea: Evil serves as a catalyst to propel the world forward.
Yet evil was never meant to be the main force. The Creator first made goodness, which reveals His true intention. He desires a world ruled by goodness—not dominated by evil.
That’s why war, as the most destructive form of evil, is deeply opposed to the Creator’s will. All people on Earth are children of the Creator. No parent would ever wish for their children to kill one another.
Still, humans continue to wage war. And so, God once declared:
“When war disappears forever, peace will finally come to the world.”
